| TITLE | The US Chapter of the International Society of Surgeons/Societe Internationale de Chirurgie (ISS/SIC) is pleased to announce the First Annual Lloyd M. Nyhus, M.D., Traveling Scholar available to a young surgeon to attend the International Surgical Week (September 6 - 10, 2009) in Adelaide, South Australia. |
| ELIGIBILITY | U.S. citizens in training within or surgeons practicing within the United States 40 years old or younger. |
| AMOUNT | The US Chapter of the ISS/SIC will award up to $2500 towards the scholar’s travel and accommodation expenses (registration fees will be waived for the scholar). |

| ADDITIONAL INFO | In order to apply for the Lloyd M. Nyhus, M.D., Traveling Scholarship, interested applicants should submit: Current curriculum vitae or resume including full name, address, e-mail address and details of academic and/or professional status; A completed application form; Up to a 250 word statement describing your reasons for applying for the traveling scholarship and your interest in attending the International Surgical Week conference; A letter of support from a current US Chapter member; and A copy of an appropriately prepared abstract for submission and consideration. The award selection criteria includes: successful submission of abstract to the Montreal meeting; accomplishments and career goals; US Chapter support letter; and financial need. |
